Hello Rockville Softball Families!
Believe it or not, we are a month into our summer vacation! I wanted to give everyone an update on our All Star teams. All teams did VERY well! Most importantly, we ALL had FUN, a pre-requisite of playing softball!
Congratulations to 8U and 12U. Both won in our District Tournament that was played at Rockville on June 23-26. 10U fell short of winning, but played a heck of a tournament and made Rockville VERY proud! Last year we had 1 District Winner. This year we have 2!! Both teams advanced to the State level this past weekend, July 7-11.
At our State tournament, BOTH teams were undefeated in the preliminary pool play, going 5-0. Unfortunately, 12U lost a heartbreaker in the semi-finals, against Warren County 7-6. It was a nail biter and the team played their hearts out! We are VERY proud of them. To all of us... they are Champions!
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our 8U team.... they are our
2011 STATE CHAMPIONS!!

I want to CONGRATULATE everyone! We are having a record season this year. Last year we had a 40% growth and this year another 34% !! This is kudos to ALL of you, who have committed your time and energy to our program.... And WOW what a difference you are making!
Alone At The Plate
She pulls on a helmet, picks up the bat,
and walks to the plate, "gotta hit and that's that."
The crowd starts to yell, the game's on the line,
last inning, two outs, the score's nine to nine.
Dad yells, "Go get it," Mom wrings her hands,
coach hollers, "hit it," but alone there she stands.
Heros are made in seconds such as this,
but she's just a little girl, what if she should miss?
Years after this game's ended and she's little no more,
will she remember the outcome or even the score?
No she'll have forgotten if she was out, hit, or a run,
she'll only look back on her friends and the fun.
So cheer this girl on, alone with her fate;
help her remember with fondness this stand at the plate.
Spend your time wisely and help in her quest
to be a hitter with confidence and always her best.
And when the game's over, this little girl can stand tall,
for you've helped her prepare to give it her all!
Keep It Fun Out There

**** NEWSLETTER ****
2010 was a HUGE success!
We grew our numbers by 40% in the spring and we doubled our #'s this fall!! We tackled All Stars in the spring, taking 3 teams, 8U, 10U and a 12U team. Our 8U and 12U teams placed runner up in districts. 10U placed 1st in districts!! Two teams advanced to the State level: 8U and 10U. Our 10U team placed 3rd in States. Not too bad for our first time doing All Stars!
We are looking for 2011 to be even better! We are happy to announce that Ashland and Beaverdam will join Rockville this year. Together, we are going to make West Hanover a force to be dealt with! Any child that lives in the Beaverdam, Ashland or Rockville area can sign up and play at ROCKVILLE now!
Thanks to all you parents.... we will have a new batting cage on the first base line by Dec. 31st. Our Chick-fil-a fund-raiser we did this spring will pay for that. It is going to be really nice! Thank you to Allen Keller for leading that project for us!
Registration for spring is OPEN! Please sign up early.... space is limited and we experienced waiting lists for the first time this fall... so, please get your them in NOW!
I am looking forward to a GREAT 2011! If you are interested in volunteering... we would be excited to have you! Coaching, scorekeeping, team Mom.... whatever... we will take it!
Go ROCKVILLE!!
